Carson Ellis old fashion Drawings

Carson Ellis is an artist from Portland, Oregon. Her artwork is known for its subtle palette and distinctive line quality: delicate linework combined with a simple color palette gives her illustrations the feeling of a forgotten treasure from a past life. She is best known for her work on the album covers of rock band The Decemberists.
Her style is simply beautiful and haunting: here it is her website.

The creative imagination of Poly Bernatene

The Argentinian Poly Bernatene is absolutely one of my favourite illustrator. His mark is distinguishing but at the same time he personalizes his characters in order to fit them perfectly with the story. His illustrations are rich of details and colours, but always well balanced.
A pleasure for your eyes!

Here it is his web-site and blog!

Netherworld Archipelago - the Capital, Jesse van Dijk

I am always amazed at what concept artist and landscape artist can produce. Here is a stunning piece of work by talented artist Jesse van Dijk creating a unique and immersive atmosphere.

He says:"This image is part of a personal project I've been working on for some time.

Without spoiling too much of the background story, the title of the image applies to the city's status among several other underground villages. It's the capital of an 'archipelago' of huge underground caverns, which is why it's referred to as the Netherworld, even though it is technically above sea level.

The city itself is inhabited by a plethora of different people. The two most notable among these, the religious caste and the elitarian ruler class, have secluded themselves from the rest of the people by constructing giant walls around their city quarters. The highest dwellings of the city - reserved only for the most priviliged - have been carved out of solid marble, a rock not native to the local environment."

How to draw eyes in photoshop

Very neat photoshop tutorial showing a process of eye drawing. Notice how the artist starts really rough and adds subsequent layers of details to the final rendering. Notice also how color is not a concern and the author leaves it for the end after defining the overall values of the drawing. Enjoy
